During the renovation at Leningradsky Station, the waiting and resting areas for passengers were completely redesigned. Previously, they had access to two regular waiting halls. Now, the station has five such spaces and lounge zones. This was reported by Maksim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
“After the major renovation of the Leningradsky Railway Station, we completely rethought the concept of waiting rooms for passengers. Now there are five modern spaces for comfortable rest — with more than a thousand seats on the second and third floors. All the lounges are free and accessible not only to passengers with tickets but also to those seeing off or meeting their loved ones. Here you can settle comfortably in an ergonomic chair, charge your phone or laptop, grab a snack, and keep track of train information. For those who want to rest before a long journey, lounge zones with ergonomic recliners and chairs by panoramic windows operate on the third floor. A separate lounge is provided for passengers with animals. This approach makes waiting at the station as comfortable as possible for all passengers,” said Maksim Liksutov.

On the second floor, there are four waiting rooms. The largest of them is located closest to the exits to the long-distance trains. From the windows, you can see the platforms and carriages. There is another hall on the third floor. There are also lounge areas here where you can relax on a deck chair or in a soft armchair near the panoramic window.
Soft anatomical chairs with armrests were installed in all halls. Shelves for hand luggage were placed between them. Now travelers can place their belongings next to them without occupying the neighboring seat or aisle.
Charging ports for gadgets are built into the lower part of the seats. Passengers also have access to standard outlets that allow them to charge their phone, laptop, and other devices without leaving their seat or belongings.
Artificial plant arrangements have been installed at the station. The halls have boards displaying train arrival and departure information. Passengers can freely take fresh newspapers at a special stand, as well as purchase a small snack from vending machines offering snacks, hot and cold drinks.
One of the five halls was designated for passengers traveling with pets. Different rules apply for animals of various sizes. Pets weighing up to 10 kilograms must be kept in carriers. Large dogs can stay close to their owner on a short leash and wearing a muzzle. Additionally, a pet care room has been created on the first floor. Here you can take them to the toilet or groom them.

Free lounge areas on the third floor are suitable for a peaceful rest before the journey. Ergonomic deck chairs of unusual curved shape have been installed here. They are comfortable for reclining, stretching out your legs, and even taking a short nap. Individual tables are placed between the chairs, where you can leave your phone, book, coffee mug, or personal belongings.
Another part of the recreation area is located along large panoramic windows. There are individual soft armchairs with tables here.
The lounge area is decorated with artificial plants, and the interior continues the architectural theme of the Leningradsky railway station. Stone-clad walls display photographs of individual building elements: the clock tower, staircases, decorative details, and other recognizable features of the station.
Leningradsky railway station was opened in May 2026 after renovations carried out jointly with the Moscow Urban Development Policy and Construction Complex.
All waiting rooms operate around the clock, but the premises may be closed for short technical breaks for cleaning. These are carried out at night, when there are few passengers and no train departures or arrivals. The rooms are closed alternately — if one area is temporarily out of service, other spaces are available to passengers.
