At the Krasnokholmskaya gallery, on City Day, there will be a tour of the exhibitions “Together We Are Strong! Eco-communities Today” and “Point on the Map. Taganka.” Visitors will get acquainted with works by contemporary artists and designers dedicated to environmental and social themes, as well as the history and development of the Tagansky district.
The annual exhibition ‘Together We Are Strong! Eco-communities Today’ tells about sustainable creative practices. This year, the main focus is on communities of like-minded people who work with recycling raw materials, reusing items, charity issues, and inclusion. Many works were created by the authors together with volunteers, representatives of various associations, and wards of charitable foundations.
The exhibition includes installations, sculptures, photographs, media art, and creative design objects. A significant portion of the works emerged during workshops using upcycling and recycling techniques.
The second exhibition — “A Point on the Map. Taganka” — brought together works created as a result of the gallery’s research laboratory. Its authors address the history of the Tagansky district, study its contemporary appearance, and reflect on possible directions for the further development of the area.
