Tehran, April 10 /Xinhua/ — The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on Friday demanded a ceasefire in Lebanon and the unblocking of Iran’s frozen assets before the start of negotiations with the United States.

He made this statement in his post on the social network X, detailing the preliminary conditions of Iran for participating in negotiations to reduce tensions in the Middle East, which are expected to take place in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, following the announcement of a two-week truce between the warring parties.

“Two measures, mutually agreed upon by the parties, have not yet been implemented: cessation of fire in Lebanon and unfreezing of Iran’s assets before the start of negotiations,” wrote M. B. Ghalibaf, emphasizing that “these two conditions must be met before they begin.” –0–
