Three more new dedicated lane sections will appear in the capital starting September 12. Thanks to this, passengers of buses and electric buses, including suburban routes of the “Moscow — region” project, will spend less time on the road.
“Priority conditions for the movement of urban transport increase the efficiency of the road network and the operation of surface transport in the capital. By the instruction of Sergey Sobyanin, we continue to introduce new dedicated lanes. Through the joint efforts of the transportation organizer’s specialists and the Traffic Management Center, three new sections of dedicated lanes with a total length of over a kilometer will appear in two districts of the capital. This will help buses and electric buses of 15 routes, including suburban routes of the ‘Moscow — region’ project, to pass these sections two to four times faster. The changes will not affect the speed of other traffic, and the risk of road traffic accidents here will decrease by approximately 25 percent,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
On Stavropolskaya Street, the dedicated lane will open before Sovkhoznaya Street. Four bus routes run here, and travel time for passengers will be reduced threefold.
On Svobody Street, a dedicated lane 0.6 kilometers long will be introduced from Fomicheva Street to Aleshkinsky Drive. Nine surface transport routes run here, including four routes from the “Moscow — region” project.
The dedicated lane on Volzhsky Boulevard, 150 meters long before Okskaya Street, will halve the travel time along this section. Three routes pass through here.
