Money transfers totaling nearly $290 million were received in Kyrgyzstan in May 2026

Bishkek, July 31 /Xinhua/ — The volume of remittances received in Kyrgyzstan in May of this year amounted to 287.9 million US dollars. This was reported on Friday by the National Bank (Central Bank) of Kyrgyzstan.

According to data published by the Central Bank on its Telegram channel, the main amount came from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries – 252.4 million dollars. Transfers from countries outside the CIS amounted to 35.5 million dollars. At the same time, the largest share of incoming transfers was from Russia — 240.6 million dollars, while 18.1 million dollars came from the USA.

In May 2026, the volume of money transfers from Kyrgyzstan amounted to $35.7 million. Of this, $33.5 million was sent to CIS countries, and $2.2 million to non-CIS countries. In particular, $31.8 million was transferred to Russia, and $1.3 million to Turkey. –0–
