Tehran, July 31 /Xinhua/ — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday warned on social media platform X about Israeli operations under a false flag aimed at undermining regional peace.

The day before, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt reported that on Wednesday there was a fire on the regasification vessel and floating storage in the port of Damietta on the Mediterranean coast. The fire was quickly contained, and there were no casualties.

“Egypt is an important friend and partner in the region, and its security is of paramount importance to us,” said A. Araghchi.

“We must all be vigilant regarding Israel’s cunning plans and false flag operations aimed at undermining regional peace,” he said.

A preliminary investigation showed that the cause of the fire on Wednesday was a drone attack, the Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers reported on Thursday. “No one has claimed responsibility for the incident,” the statement notes. –0–
