Beijing, July 28 /Xinhua/ — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred on Tuesday at 11:34 a.m. /Beijing time/ in Xinhai County, Qinghai Province /Northwest China/, the China Earthquake Networks Center /CENC/ reported.

According to CENC data, the epicenter of the underground tremors was located at coordinates 35.35 degrees north latitude and 99.58 degrees east longitude. The hypocenter was at a depth of 10 km.

This earthquake followed one that occurred 18 minutes earlier, at 11:16 Beijing time, in the same location, with a magnitude of 5.7.
