Beijing, July 28 /Xinhua/ — The total volume of student loans issued under the government support program to students in China reached 695.8 billion yuan (approximately 102.43 billion US dollars) by the end of 2025. More than 30 million students participated in this program, the Ministry of Education of the PRC reported on Tuesday.
Since 2012, China has gradually increased the maximum amount of student loans from 6,000 yuan per student per year to 20,000 yuan for those studying in bachelor’s degree programs or vocational-technical colleges, and 25,000 yuan for graduate students, according to the agency’s data.
