The third graduation of master’s degree students took place at the Rosneft basic department at Tyumen Industrial University in the program “Digital Technologies in Oil and Gas.” With active support from the Company, leading universities in the country are training engineering personnel in specialties demanded by the oil industry.
The department at Tyumen Industrial University has been implementing practice-oriented student training for five years. The department’s key subjects include the design of hydrocarbon field development, modern methods of production intensification and enhanced oil recovery, engineering of oil, gas, and condensate production. Future oil and gas specialists learn from experienced practitioners at Rosneft, conduct scientific research, and work with modern specialized software.
During their training, master’s students work in the development monitoring departments of the corporate scientific institute in Tyumen, which provides opportunities to improve practical skills on real projects. Students of the basic department have a unique opportunity to study the properties of rocks and reservoir fluids at one of the largest core research centers in Russia.
Thanks to targeted training, current graduates have already distinguished themselves in research activities, becoming winners of the scientific and technical conferences for young specialists of Rosneft, and have published dozens of articles in scientific journals. Their research demonstrates how modern digital technologies can improve the efficiency of oil and gas extraction processes while reducing labor costs and operational expenses.
In addition to the master’s program, the basic department runs a production postgraduate program in the scientific specialty “Development and operation of oil and gas fields.” The research work of the postgraduates is also aimed at solving current industrial problems.
Collaboration with leading domestic technical universities contributes to strengthening the Company’s technological leadership — one of the key elements of the “Rosneft – 2030” strategy.
