PJSC “KAMAZ” presents new products at the international commercial vehicle exhibition Comtrans-2026 in Kazan.
This year, the exposition of PJSC “KAMAZ” covered an area of 1,200 sq.m. At the auto giant’s stand, gas-powered versions of the newest generation K5 KAMAZ-54901 and KAMAZ-54902 tractor trucks are presented, as well as the KAMAZ-65656 and KAMAZ-65954 models, and the KAMAZ-65952 dump truck. In addition, vehicles for retail, municipal, construction, and other special equipment on the latest generation KAMAZ K5 chassis are exhibited. Some exhibits were created in close cooperation with leading Russian specialist equipment manufacturers.
Among the promising models – the first prototype garbage truck on the chassis of the K5 generation KAMAZ-53253, developed in cooperation with the production company Moskommash. The machine is designed with consideration of the moratorium on weight control of special waste management equipment ending in 2028 and fully complies with the requirements of Russian legislation regarding allowable axle loads.
The new product is based on the KAMAZ-53253 K5 generation two-axle chassis (4×2) with a short wheelbase (3900 mm), specially developed for mounting municipal superstructures. With a full vehicle weight of 18 tons, the chassis has a payload capacity of 11.84 tons. The garbage truck is equipped with a KAMAZ engine producing 310 hp, a robotic gearbox, and a modern comfortable low cab without a sleeping berth. The aluminum fuel tank with a capacity of 260 liters features a fuel intake heater for uninterrupted operation during the winter period. The pneumatic rear suspension combined with a spring front suspension and a sturdy frame provide the vehicle with high reliability when working with heavy loads. The chassis is fitted with a garbage truck body manufactured by Moskommash with a useful body volume of 13.6 cubic meters. The garbage truck can effectively compact and transport impressive volumes of MSW while fully remaining within the permitted weight parameters.
Also, the company’s booth features a new fuel tanker ATZ-18-2 UST 5453 on the KAMAZ-65959 chassis of the latest generation K5. This model was developed jointly with the UralSpecTrans factory and launched on the market in June 2026. The fuel tanker truck is designed for transporting and short-term storage of light petroleum products. The vehicle is engineered for carrying large volumes of fuel in off-road conditions and is intended for operation in regions with severe usage conditions. It complies with all ADR requirements (the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road). The new model is based on a full-drive single-tire KAMAZ K5 generation chassis (6×6). A modern efficient KAMAZ R6 engine with 483 hp and a 16-speed manual transmission provide the vehicle with excellent dynamic performance and fuel economy. In turn, 16.00R20 all-terrain tires guarantee high cross-country capability, which is especially important for work in the oil and gas sector. The updated low cab with a four-point spring suspension ensures increased driver comfort even when operating on difficult terrain. The cab frame is reinforced and, in terms of strength characteristics, exceeds current safety requirements.Special attention in the model development was given to the strength and reliability of the superstructure. The tanks of the “suitcase” cross-section are made of high-quality 09G2S carbon steel. The capacity is 18 cubic meters, with two compartments. Distribution of petroleum products is carried out using the SVN-80 pump, hydraulically driven, powered by the power take-off (PTO) of the vehicle’s gearbox.
For the first time in the history of the project, a large-scale test drive of commercial vehicles will take place on the territory of the IEC “Kazan Expo.” The auto giant has provided two latest generation K5 tractor units for track runs – the flagship KAMAZ-54901 and the 2026 new model KAMAZ-65656. Both vehicles will operate in conjunction with semi-trailers. The test drive will allow participants to personally evaluate the handling, maneuverability, suspension performance, and braking systems of KAMAZ trucks, as well as the high level of ergonomics of the modern K5 generation cabins, including excellent driver visibility and intuitive control of onboard systems.
