The Moscow Central Circle (MCC) is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Launched on September 10, 2016, in partnership with JSC “Russian Railways”, the line has become one of the most successful global examples of integrating railway infrastructure into the urban rail transit system.
Over 10 years, the MCC has become a key element of the capital’s transport framework. Thanks to seamless transfers to the metro and the MCD, as well as comfortable trains with climate control, passengers save on average from 9 to 16 minutes per trip — for example, on the route “Bulvar Rokossovskogo” — “Vladykino,” travel time has been reduced from 37 to approximately 13 minutes. For city residents who use the ring daily for commuting, the total time saved over a decade amounts to about one month.
In honor of the anniversary, a festive and cultural program was prepared for passengers: 6,000 commemorative gifts were distributed, concerts of the “Music in the Metro” project and art master classes were organized. In addition, a photo exhibition “MCC: 10 years in the rhythm of the capital” opened at the transfer hub of Kutuzovskaya station, which will run until October 10.

Today, the ring allows choosing an alternative route and significantly reduces travel time. For Muscovites who regularly use the MCC on weekdays for commuting to work, the total time saved on trips over 10 years amounts to about one month. We are consistently developing the transfer system so that passengers can build optimal routes between the metro, MCC, and MCD and get to the desired point in the city faster,” noted Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Transport.
