The fighting that continued over the weekend and on Monday once again led to severe consequences for the civilian population across Ukraine: there are dead and wounded.
This was reported at the daily briefing in New York by the Deputy Spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, citing data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The most severe damage has been recorded in the east and south of the country. The attacks resulted in casualties in the Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions. Residential houses, hospitals, warehouses, stores, administrative and industrial facilities, as well as pipelines, have been damaged.
“Today in Kherson, two medical workers were injured as a result of a strike on an ambulance,” Hak reported.
Local and international humanitarian organizations, with the support of UN agencies, have provided assistance to those affected, including materials for housing repairs and hot meals. The population is also receiving financial aid and psychological support.
