On September 16, the forum “Hero of My District” will be held in the capital. It is named after the eponymous project, within which students interview outstanding residents of Moscow.
“The forum is held annually and every time unites the modern heroes of our city. These are participants of the special military operation, rescuers, medics, volunteers, and many others,” noted
Marina Prozorova, Deputy Head of the Moscow Department of Territorial Executive Authorities.
The program consists of two parts. The first includes patriotic workshops, a first aid training session, and an exhibition of Emergency Situations Ministry staff costumes. In the second part, visitors will interact with forum participants. Among them is Sergey Karelin, coordinator of the Moscow Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation for the Central Administrative District of Moscow. He is engaged in adapting servicemen to civilian life and their rehabilitation after combat injuries.
Other honored guests include educator Sergey Zabelin, Cossack ataman and organizer of the Great Patriotic War museum at school No. 1238, as well as Alexander Fadeichev, coordinator of the “Youth of the People’s Front” movement in Moscow. They will talk about the continuity of generations, volunteer activities, and the importance of supporting the defenders of the Fatherland at the home front.
The forum will take place at 40–42 Taganskaya Street. It starts at 17:00. Everyone is welcome, admission is free.
The “Hero of My District” project was invented by activists of the City Center for Professional and Career Development in 2022. They suggested telling stories about neighbors who can rightfully be called heroes. The student initiative quickly reached the city level. Now it includes not only interviews but also forums, meetings, discussions, and round tables.
The City Center for Professional and Career Development unites students from 60 Moscow universities, providing them with the opportunity to gain practical experience, develop personal skills, communicate with recognized experts, and define their career path.
