This summer in the project “City of Tasks” Residents of the capital were offered a multitude of interesting and useful activities. The past season became one of the largest in terms of the number of tasks opened and completed in the project. Users evaluated the renovated public spaces, tested digital services, checked the condition of infrastructure facilities, visited exhibitions and other events, and then shared their opinions with the organizers.
“Today, ‘City of Tasks’ is a community of caring Muscovites who every day make the capital even more comfortable and convenient for all its residents. The project has united almost half a million like-minded people of different ages and interests. Just this summer, they completed online and offline assignments from executive authorities and city services more than 272,000 times. Over three months, citizens had access to 96 types of tasks, and over 12,000 new cards appeared on the project’s website — about the urban environment, ecology, safety, and life in the capital. We plan to continue expanding the range of tasks, offer users new mechanics, and make their participation in the project even more transparent by showing how information from reports becomes real changes in the urban environment,” noted Evgenia Zolotova, First Deputy Head of the State Public Institution ‘New Management Technologies.’
At the end of the summer season, an awards ceremony was held at the Moscow Government’s situational center for the most active participants of the “City of Tasks” project. The best included those who most frequently and successfully completed the tasks and helped the capital. For example, Yulia M. completed 186 various tasks over the summer, Sergey R. inspected 99 children’s and sports playgrounds, Natalya R. visited and evaluated 37 spaces within the “Summer in Moscow” project, and Olga K. completed 31 environmental tasks over three months. In total, 43 participants were recognized in different categories of the project.
In addition, among the tasks interesting to Muscovites were joint events with the “My District” program. Participants got acquainted with the history and features of the capital’s districts, followed routes, photographed interesting places, and evaluated urban spaces. Over the season, these tasks were completed more than 70 thousand times.
Muscovites have completed tasks related to separate waste collection over 35,000 times. They deposited plastic and glass containers into special yellow and green bell-shaped containers. As a result, tons of glass and plastic were sent for recycling to become useful items again.

Another popular summer assignment was “Summer Without Incidents: Test Your Knowledge,” prepared by By the Department of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Fire Safety of the city of Moscow. Project “City of Tasks” has been operating since January 2022. With its help, Muscovites can monitor the work of city services, participate in environmental, cultural, sports, and other events. Currently, participants have already completed more than 3.9 million tasks. The project is developed by the State Public Institution “New Management Technologies” and the capital city Department of Information Technology.
