In the Moscow State Art Gallery of the People’s Artist of the USSR A. Shilov, subordinate to the capital’s Department of Culture, on September 1, an exhibition of the artist’s new works created in 2025–2026 will open. The exhibition will run until September 30.
Every year on the eve of City Day, Alexander Shilov presents new things to the townspeople works, which are then gratuitously gifted to the Motherland and Moscow.
Central to the exhibition will be portraits of contemporaries — people for whom service to the country has become a part of their personal biography. Among them is the portrait of Moscow State Institute of International Relations graduate Captain Ivan Vorobyov. He joined the volunteer unmanned aviation brigade. For courage and heroism displayed during combat operations, he was awarded the Order of Courage, the medals “For Bravery” (Donetsk People’s Republic), and “Defender of the Kursk Region”.
Another work is dedicated to Dmitry Titov — a marine corps captain, participant in the special military operation, and a combat veteran. He is the son of a Hero of the Russian Federation and continues the family tradition of military service.
A separate part of the exhibition is related to historical continuity. In the painting “Count Peter Petrovich Sheremetev by the portrait of his ancestor General Field Marshal B.P. Sheremetev,” the artist addresses the theme of the connection between generations and historical memory. At the center of the composition are a representative of the modern generation of the Sheremetev family and his ancestor, a state and military figure of the Petrine era.
The new paintings by Alexander Shilov continue his many years of work for the benefit of our Fatherland.
