Beijing, August 28 /Xinhua/ — Preparatory work for the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2026 is virtually complete, Deputy Minister of Commerce of China Yan Dong said on Friday.
This year, the CIFTIS fair, which will take place from September 9 to 13 in Beijing, will bring together exhibitors from more than 90 countries and international organizations, as well as over 1,800 companies. Yan Dong stated at the press conference that the event will provide all participants the opportunity to showcase and sell their quality services, as well as better study the Chinese market.
According to Yan Dun, the fair will showcase areas focused on providing professional support to Chinese companies seeking to enter overseas markets, which will help bring more high-quality Chinese services to the global market.
In 2026, the CIFTIS fair will pay special attention to showcasing the latest achievements in areas such as financial technology, digital and intelligent healthcare, energy saving, and environmental protection, said Yan Dong.
Improving the quality of cooperation in trade and investment is one of the key tasks formulated in the country’s 15th five-year plan (2026-2030), which includes a call for more effective coordination of imports and exports with equal attention given to trade in goods and services.
Trade in services in China in the first half of 2026 showed good results – the total volume of imports and exports of services reached 3.8 trillion yuan /about 560.4 billion USD/, increasing by 8.3 percent year-on-year. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, service exports grew by 17.6 percent, becoming a key factor in the growth of foreign trade.
“Speaking about the prospects for the entire year, China’s trade in services will generally maintain a positive dynamic, and the export of services will show steady growth,” said Yan Dong.
