Test voting has concluded in the capital ahead of the September elections. Adult residents with permanent registration in Moscow took part.
Public testing of the electronic voting system with the participation of the capital’s residents was successful and went smoothly. With the help of the citizens, the developers were able to verify the system’s readiness for the elections that will be held in Moscow from September 18 to 20, 2026. Experts also identified which improvements need to be made in the near future. Additional fine-tuning will help make voting online and via electronic voting terminals for the State Duma elections even more convenient and reliable.
The September voting in the elections will last three days — unlike the test, which is conducted in a compressed timeframe to check the system’s resilience to increased loads. In addition, the developers subjected the electronic voting system to stress tests and evaluated the behavior of all its components in various emergency situations.
The test voting traditionally took place several weeks before the elections. During it, Muscovites answered whether the monument to A.S. Pushkin should be returned to its historical place on Tverskoy Boulevard, in honor of the opening of which the famous speech by F.M. Dostoevsky about the poet’s role in uniting Russia was given. The proposal to choose where the famous monument should stand was made by the People’s Artist of the RSFSR and Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, Nikita Mikhalkov.
From September 18 to 20, an event will take place in Moscow elections deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and municipal deputies of the Shchukino district. Voters can participate in online voting or vote at polling stations.
