Beijing, August 25 /Xinhua/ — The draft amendments to the PRC Agriculture Law were submitted for consideration in the second reading on Tuesday at the 24th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress /NPC Standing Committee/.
This document is aimed at improving measures to support the development of agriculture and the economy of rural areas.
The PRC Agricultural Law, a fundamental legislative act regulating agriculture and the rural economy, was first enacted in 1993 and comprehensively revised in 2002. Minor amendments to certain provisions of the law were made in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
