The Third Moscow International Film Week will take place in the capital from August 24 to 30 as part of “Summer in Moscow”. In addition to film screenings, lectures, and autograph sessions, the business program will traditionally take place. At the MosKino film factory on August 27–28, more than 40 sessions will be held with the participation of about 200 Russian and foreign experts. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

“Professionals from 19 countries such as China, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil will gather in the capital. Industry representatives will discuss international cooperation and project promotion, the implementation of new technologies, the development of national online platforms, the training of young specialists, and other topics,” noted Natalia Sergunina.

The keynote session will be dedicated to the possibilities of the Moscow film infrastructure. For example, guests will be told about unique filming locations and support measures for filmmakers.

Another important topic is working with an overseas audience: what to pay attention to when analyzing viewer preferences and which tools help in exporting content.

At another session, the international trend of transforming cinemas into multifunctional cultural spaces will be discussed. In addition to screenings, they increasingly offer visitors a wide range of programs: lectures, exhibitions, and workshops.

In addition, experts will discuss the use of artificial intelligence to reduce film production time and lower costs.

In 2024 and 2025, as part of the business program of Moscow Film Week, the capital signed eight international cooperation agreements in the film industry. They involve the exchange of best practices, collaboration on joint projects, and mutual assistance in organizing shootings.

The film week will cover dozens more venues across the city: the MosKino film park, cinemas of the same network, and the Khudozhestvenny Cinema, as well as popular spaces where the mobile cinema will travel. Everyone will be able to watch domestic and foreign new releases, join the “Night of Cinema” event, attend meetings with well-known filmmakers, lectures, excursions, and master classes. Details are available at official website.

The event will be held under the auspices of the “Moscow — City of Cinema” project, which aims to develop a multifunctional ecosystem for creating films, series, and TV projects.

“Summer in Moscow” is the key event of the season, already becoming a good tradition and an integral part of the city’s life. The main theme this year is “Time to be together,” and the goal of all the events is to unite and bring closer the residents of the capital.
