Today we talk about the team of the project “System Digital Engineering of Products and the Development of Digital Twins in the Field of Power Engineering Machine Building.” The leader is the deputy director of the Computer Engineering Center, a research engineer of the cross-industry technologies department Nikolay Yefimov-Soini.

The aim of the project is to develop digital technologies that ensure the thermal resistance, reliability, durability, and efficiency of the advanced small modular reactors being developed by intensifying heat and mass transfer in the active zone of the nuclear reactor.

Polytech has a strategy tied to national projects for technological leadership, one of which is new energy. In this field, there are modular reactors. They are directly related to water-water reactors, with which all project participants already have experience. This significantly simplifies their work on current tasks.

The project is fully implemented based on the Advanced Engineering School “Digital Engineering,” so all team members are from there. This year, they are working on developing computer models of virtual test benches for mixer grids of a small modular reactor.

The “Priority 2030” program is a government initiative. This allows us to implement all our boldest ideas, which would be impossible when participating in private or commercial projects due to their more stringent constraints, noted the project leader Nikolay Yefimov-Sojni.
