“The government is carrying out systematic work to develop high-quality roadside services, which today are perceived as part of a comprehensive infrastructure service for drivers and passengers. On high-speed highways, a network of modern multifunctional zones is being created, providing motorists with everything necessary on the road, including various types of fuel. In particular, on the M-11 ‘Neva’ highway in the Solnechnogorsk urban district of the Moscow region, two of the largest electric charging complexes in Russia with stations of various power levels have opened at existing multifunctional zones. One of them is located at the 63rd kilometer heading towards Moscow, and the other at the 75th kilometer towards Saint Petersburg. Now trips in electric and hybrid cars between these cities will become much more convenient. Overall, the presence of such complexes on the roads allows forming a new ecosystem for car trips, increasing the efficiency of the entire country’s road transport system, as well as improving the environmental situation. The use of electric vehicles reduces the emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful substances into the atmosphere, which directly impacts improving the quality of life of Russians,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister specified that there are 13 electric charging stations at the 63rd km, and 14 at the 75th km. High-speed equipment rated at 150–210 kW is intended for fast charging, and 22 kW stations for prolonged charging. One of the stations, with a capacity of 210 kW, allows for rapid charging of electric buses. Public transport drivers can replenish their range during scheduled stops and simultaneously use all the necessary services. Additionally, even in the event of a power outage, drivers will be able to continuously charge electric vehicles at 22 kW stations using backup power.
According to Vyacheslav Petushenko, head of the state company Avtodor, the opening of charging complexes is an important part of the development strategy of the MFS on high-speed highways.
“Electric charging stations are an integral part of modern roadside infrastructure, which we actively develop taking into account users’ needs. Thus, at new sites, in addition to charging infrastructure and parking spaces for passenger cars and motorcycles, there are already rest areas, children’s and sports playgrounds, and dog walking areas on the territory. Currently, the construction of the interior part of the service building in these complexes is being completed. Finishing work is underway in restaurants, cafes, and minimarkets, the opening of which is planned before the end of this year. The launch of new service facilities has become part of a systematic effort to develop infrastructure for environmentally friendly transport on the M-11 “Neva”,” noted Vyacheslav Petushenko.
