Beijing, July 14 /Xinhua/ — Recently, customs clearance was successfully completed at the Hunchun checkpoint (Jilin Province, Northeast China) for 21 tons of beef from Russia, marking the opening of a channel for importing Russian meat through this border crossing, the Chinese news agency “Zhongguo Xinwenshe” reported on its website on Monday, citing the Hunchun city Commerce Administration.
In July of this year, a special platform for monitoring imported meat was officially put into operation in the demonstration zone of international cooperation in the city of Hunchun, which laid a solid foundation for conducting meat import operations.
Thanks to the geographical advantages associated with its proximity to Russia and well-established customs clearance conditions, the Hunchun checkpoint is capable of ensuring fast delivery of meat imported from Russia to the domestic market, opening a new meat supply channel to the northeast region of China.
