Beijing, July 14 /Xinhua/ — The volume of China’s foreign trade in goods in yuan increased by 16.9 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2026, according to data released Tuesday by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of China.
The total volume of the country’s foreign trade in goods reached 25.47 trillion yuan (about 3.75 trillion US dollars) in the period from January to June of this year. Data showed that this indicator exceeded the mark of 25 trillion yuan for the first time in history during a comparable time frame.
In particular, the volume of exports from China amounted to 14.73 trillion yuan, with an increase of 13.4 percent year-on-year, showing growth for 11 consecutive quarters, while the volume of imports into the country amounted to 10.74 trillion yuan, rising by 22.1 percent year-on-year, with the growth rate being 8.7 percentage points higher than that of exports, which contributes to the balanced development of trade.
According to data from the GTU, under complex and changing external conditions, China’s foreign trade, while maintaining a favorable operational trend, gained strong growth momentum and achieved stable development. -0-
