Beijing, July 8 /Xinhua/ — The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China has allocated 50 million yuan (approximately 7.34 million US dollars) from the central budget to support urgent restoration in Hubei Province following severe convective weather events, including thunderstorms and strong winds.
The funds allocated by the State Commission for Emergency Situations will be primarily used to restore damaged infrastructure, including highways, as well as public service facilities such as schools, which will contribute to the rapid restoration of normal production and daily life in the affected areas.
According to local authorities, 11 people died and one more went missing after thunderstorms and strong winds caused by powerful convective weather phenomena hit the eastern part of Hubei Province in Central China on Monday evening. -0-
