19 years ago, Russia celebrated a new holiday for the first time — the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity. Since 2022, it has become a national holiday, and this is quite natural. Throughout nearly the entire history of our country, family values have been the foundation of the way of life.
The date of the celebration — July 8 — is connected with the Orthodox veneration of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, who are considered the patrons of marriage and family. Their life journey has become an embodiment of devotion, love, and family happiness for many believers — an example that remains relevant for new generations.
For the Polytechnic community, this holiday has a special significance. Near the university’s third building, there is installed monument to Peter and Fevronia —a reminder of the importance of family values. Student years are not only a time for gaining knowledge and finding one’s path, but also a time when the need for closeness and mutual support is especially felt, when true feelings emerge. Over its 127-year history, Polytech has seen the formation of many strong families, and this holds a special value.
It is exactly such families that our special project “Dynasty.” Its heroes have already become 20 wonderful, close-knit Polytechnic families. Some of them originated right under the auspices of the alma mater.
University years often become the best time to start a family: shared interests, studies, challenges and joys of independent life bring people closer together. Students who commit to serious relationships become more responsible and focused. Today, in an era of turbulence, the value of family becomes even more evident.
We wish every family health, mutual understanding, and undying love. And to those who are still single, we wish to meet their other half and find harmony in the union of two hearts. May the number of happy family stories at our university continue to grow, and in an atmosphere of warmth and support, a new generation of polytechnic students thrive.
