Beijing, July 6 /Xinhua/ — The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters of China activated Level 4 emergency response mode on Monday for floods in Anhui and Shandong provinces, the Ministry of Emergency Management of China reported.
According to meteorological service forecasts, from Monday to Tuesday, heavy rains are expected in some areas of the north-central part of Anhui Province and the south-central part of Shandong Province.
According to the report, heavy rain may occur in some areas of the northern part of Anhui Province and the southern part of Shandong Province. Hourly precipitation in these areas will range from 30 to 60 mm, and in some areas may exceed 90 mm.
The State Flood and Drought Control Headquarters of China and the Ministry of Emergency Management of China held a joint consultation with several departments on Monday, noting that due to Typhoon “Maesak,” heavy rains will continue in southern China and in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. According to forecasts, rains will become more frequent and intense in northern China.
