Beijing, June 24 /Xinhuanet/ — The United States and Iran must jointly uphold and implement the memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries, said the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Geng Shuang, on Wednesday.
At another press briefing, Go Xyakun reminded that the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding in which they pledged to respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, to refrain from initiating any military operations against each other, and to refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs. According to him, this memorandum served as a positive signal for external peace, and it should be defended and jointly implemented.
China is ready to continue providing assistance by its own methods and play a constructive role in achieving the earliest possible restoration of peace and tranquility in the region, added the official representative.
