Moscow, June 24 /Xin Hua/ — The photo exhibition “Connected by One Destiny on the Path of Great Achievements,” dedicated to the achievements of Chinese modernization, took place on Tuesday at the Embassy of the PRC in Moscow. It was held as part of a solemn reception for Russian internet celebrities and the ceremony launching the content contest in new media “Creativity Overcomes Mountains and Seas, Friendship between China and Russia Strives into the Future.”
The exhibition presented 40 photographs from the archives of the Xinhua News Agency. The lenses of photojournalists captured the historical and innovative achievements of China in the economic, scientific and technological, ecological, and cultural fields, as well as exchanges between Chinese and Russian youth.
Greeting the gathered guests, the Ambassador of the PRC in the Russian Federation, Zhang Hanhui, noted that practical cooperation between the countries is reaching a qualitatively new level. “The high level of Sino-Russian relations and the high-quality development of cooperation in very diverse fields give the mass media—and above all new media—a truly generous, multifaceted, and inexhaustible material for creativity and truthful dissemination of information—information that reflects the living spirit of the modern era,” emphasized the diplomat.
Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Russia Vladimir Solovyov said that many achievements of Chinese modernization, which are reflected in the presented photographs, he was able to personally evaluate during his trips in China. “I saw high-speed trains, and quite recently I saw robots in Hangzhou. Today China is like a separate planet. You can study it your whole life, and I am always glad to find myself in this country,” he shared his impressions with correspondent Xin Hua.
V. Solovyov also regretfully added that not so many people in Russia yet know about what is happening in China. In his opinion, it is worth demonstrating the most outstanding achievements and giving Russian journalists the opportunity to write and tell about them. Similar photo exhibitions largely contribute to this.
Deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Trud” Mikhail Morozov admitted in a conversation with correspondent Sin Yua that he has written more than 500 articles about China’s successes in various fields.
During the inspection of the exhibition, the journalist paid attention to a photograph showing the moment of dispatch from the conveyor of the 20-millionth car in the country using a new energy source. “China is not only the world leader in the production of such cars, it produces more than the rest of the world combined. Currently, China’s production of such cars is approximately equal to the production of cars with internal combustion engines. This is an incredible achievement for China,” he concluded.
M. Morozov believes that the key to the successes and achievements that China demonstrates to the world is the country’s leadership, the Communist Party of China. “The merit of the CPC is that it leads the country forward, ensures stability in society, and steadily implements planned objectives. Any plan that is made will definitely be realized,” he emphasized. M. Morozov added that, as a journalist, he sees his task in showing China’s successes and doing everything possible so that Russia adopts this experience.
The exhibition was organized by the Embassy of the PRC in the Russian Federation and the Xin Chao information agency. The co-organizers were China Chengtong International Investment Co., Ltd. and the company “Molniya”.
