Changchun, June 23 /Xin Hua/ — On Monday, an event took place in the city of Changchun /administrative center of Jilin Province, Northeast China/ for an exchange in the field of choreographic art among Chinese-Russian youth. Young dancers from the two countries performed on one stage, strengthening mutual understanding and friendship through creative interaction.
The years 2026 and 2027 were declared as reciprocal Years of Education between China and Russia. This event took place at the Cizilin Art Institute, which serves as a platform for artistic exchanges between higher educational institutions of China and Russia.
As reported by the news portal chinanews.com.cn, at the event, young artists from two countries took turns performing on stage, showcasing their mastery. Students from the Cizilin Arts Institute presented the northeastern Chinese folk dance “Yangge” and Mongolian folk dances. Russian teenagers, in turn, performed modern dances in the hip-hop style, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience for their energetic performance.
Within the framework of the interactive educational block, the famous Chinese choreographer Wan Xiaoyan clearly demonstrated the basic movements of the “Yangge” dance and told Russian youth about the cultural and everyday significance embodied in this dance. Young dancers from both countries studied and repeated the movements together, building a bridge of mutual understanding through art.
As the organizers noted, holding this event is aimed at further deepening humanitarian exchanges between Chinese and Russian youth, promoting mutual understanding and strengthening friendly ties through artistic exchanges.
