Beijing, June 18 /Xin Hua/ — China and the European Union /EU/ support sustainable contacts on trade and economic issues. This was reported on Thursday at the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC.
The official representative of the Ministry, He Yadun, made this statement in response to a request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to comment on the latest progress achieved in the trade and economic negotiations between China and the EU.
He Yadun characterized the recent negotiations in Brussels as “in-depth and comprehensive” between the Deputy Minister of Commerce of the PRC, the Deputy Representative of China for International Trade Negotiations Lin Zhi, and the Director-General for Trade and Economic Security of the European Commission Ditte Ul Jorgensen. The official representative of the Chinese trade department also noted that they helped lay the foundation for the planned ministerial-level consultations in the near future.
