Beijing, June 16 /Xinhua/ — Housing prices in the first-tier cities of China – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen – grew on a monthly basis in May of this year, according to official data published on Tuesday.
Prices for new commercial housing in these four cities increased on average by 0.2% compared to the previous month, with growth rates exceeding the April indicator by 0.1 percentage points, reported the State Statistical Office (SSO) of the CN.
In particular, in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, a price increase of 0.2%, 0.2%, and 0.4% respectively was recorded, while in Beijing prices decreased by 0.2% compared to the same indicator of the previous month.
In secondary market cities, according to the State Statistics Service data, prices for new commercial housing fell by 0.1% in monthly terms, remaining at the same level, while in tertiary market cities – by 0.4%, which is 0.1 percentage points higher than in April.
Of 70 large and medium-sized cities in China, 16 reported an increase in prices for new commercial housing in May, which is 2 more cities than in April, noted by the NBS. -0-
