The partner of PJSC “KAMAZ” – the Nizhny Novgorod specialized plant “Smarteko” – presented a tow truck with a sliding platform based on the KAMAZ-53251 chassis.
The new model is designed for the simultaneous evacuation or transportation of two cars at once: one by the method of full loading onto a platform, the other by the method of partial loading onto a cradle, which has a lifting capacity of 2.5 tons. The vehicle is equipped with a sliding platform with useful dimensions of 7500×2500 mm. The platform is equipped with a hydraulic winch with a lifting capacity of 6 tons and rear outriggers.
The “Smarteko” tow truck is based on the chassis of the latest generation KAMAZ-53251 K5. The vehicle is equipped with an economical six-cylinder inline KAMAZ engine with a volume of 6.7 liters, power of 301 hp, as well as a nine-speed manual gearbox. The ECAS pneumatic suspension allows for changing the platform height during loading and ensures smooth ride quality.
Serial production of the new KAMAZ-53251 chassis of the K5 generation with a 4×2 wheel configuration will start in 2025. This is the optimal option for transportation within the city and for short distances where maneuverability and economy are important. The main advantage of the vehicle is its well-thought-out ergonomics, spacious interior cabin, reliable components and assemblies, and stylish, modern design. The new cabin on a four-point suspension with a low tunnel (170 mm) and a full-fledged sleeping place provides exceptional comfort for the driver.It is also equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, a 10-inch onboard system, and other useful options. The chassis load capacity is 12 tons.
