Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the participants of the Russian student squads movement on the opening of the 67th summer work season, which starts on June 12 – Russia Day.
He noted that over more than half a century, student squads have preserved the best traditions and ideology of the movement, based on respect for labor, camaraderie, mutual assistance, and the desire to bring benefit to their country. During this time, more than 20 million people have passed through the student squads.
“The student squad movement holds special significance today, when the country’s economy needs young, proactive, and professionally trained personnel. Russian student squads are able to respond in a timely manner to the challenges of the times, adjusting to the needs of key sectors of the economy, creating opportunities for young people not only for summer employment and gaining their first work experience, but also for professional development.””Since 2021, thanks to the activities of RSO, more than 170 thousand young people have received free training in additional working professions, which has become an important contribution to the training of qualified specialists for the country,” emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the Government.
In the 2026 labor season, work will be carried out in 9 main areas – from construction to medical. Hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren and students from across the country will take part in it. For the first time, teenagers will work according to a new law that allows minors to work on weekends and holidays. It is planned to conduct more than 40 all-Russian, 10 district, and 50 interregional labor projects.There will also be a series of international labor projects: construction of the AES “Rosatom” in Turkey, India, Bangladesh, Hungary, a student service project “Runway” on the territory of Pulkovo airport in Saint Petersburg, and others.
