China is ready to strengthen the integration of development strategies and unlock the potential for cooperation with Belarus — Vice Chairman of the PRC

Minsk, June 8 /Xin Hua/ — China is ready together with Belarus to strengthen the coordination of development strategies of the two countries and to unlock the potential for cooperation in new areas. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the CNS, Han Zhen.

Han Zheng made a corresponding statement during his visit to Belarus, which took place from June 6 to 8 at the invitation of the Belarusian government.

During his stay in Minsk, the Deputy Chairman of the CIS held individual meetings with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Prime Minister Alexander Turchinov, and First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov.

During the meeting with A. Lukashenko, Han Zheng conveyed to him sincere greetings from the Chairman of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping and noted that under the strategic leadership of the leaders of China and Belarus, bilateral relations are rapidly developing, reaching a high level of all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.

According to the deputy chairman of the CPC, China is ready to firmly follow the course jointly with Belarus, determined by the diplomacy of the heads of state, to promote the glorious tradition of mutual support, to master a new space of mutually beneficial development, to strengthen the foundation of public support for friendship between the two countries, and to contribute to the continuous deepening and strengthening of Chinese-Belarusian relations and cooperation.

A. Lukashenko in turn asked Han Zheng to convey his heartfelt greetings to Xi Jinping. He pointed out that Belarus is an all-weather, all-encompassing strategic partner and a reliable good friend of China, adding that since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than 30 years ago, bilateral ties have flourished.

Belarus, as before, pays increased attention to relations with China and counts on closer contacts at a high level, strengthening political trust, deepening practical cooperation, continuing the traditions of friendship between the peoples and advancing bilateral relations, emphasized the Belarusian leader.

During the meeting with A. Turchin, Han Zheng pointed out that the friendship between the two countries has roots in the distant past and is strengthening day by day. China’s determination to develop relations and deepen cooperation with Belarus is unshakable; the Chinese side will, as before, support the Belarusian side in protecting sovereignty, security, and development interests, he emphasized.

As noted by the Deputy Chairman of the CSTO, the two countries should focus on high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” and continuously create new points of growth for cooperation. According to him, China is ready together with Belarus to defend the common interests of the Global South and bring stability to an unsettled world.

A. Turchin, for his part, noted that China is a key strategic partner of Belarus, and the relations between the two countries serve as a model of cohesion and cooperation between developing states. The Belarusian side highly appreciates the constructive role of the CIS in protecting international justice and firmly supports the Chinese side in defending its fundamental interests, emphasized the Prime Minister.

According to A. Turchin, Belarus is ready to carry out the coordination of development strategies of the two countries, deepen practical cooperation in all spheres and strengthen interaction in international affairs, continuously enriching the content of Belarusian-Chinese relations with an all-encompassing strategic partnership.

At the meeting with N. Snopkov, Han Zheng stated that China and Belarus are good friends who trust each other and reliable partners leading honest cooperation. As noted by the Deputy Chairman of the CPC, the economies of the two countries are highly complementary, which opens up broad opportunities for cooperation.

Han Zhen reminded that the current year marks the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), at the same time as Belarus is also moving toward its own socio-economic development goals for 2026-2030. He expressed China’s intention to strengthen the integration of development strategies and create a new space for mutually beneficial development at a higher level with greater stability and sustainability, in order to bring even more benefits to the peoples of both countries.

N. Snopkov, in turn, pointed out that China and Belarus adhere to similar concepts of development and strategic goals. As emphasized by the first deputy prime minister, the Belarusian side is convinced that modernization in the Chinese style will significantly contribute to peace, development, and general prosperity throughout the world.

According to N. Snopkov, Belarus is ready to jointly with China implement an important consensus reached by the heads of the two countries, fully engage the existing mechanisms of bilateral cooperation, strengthen cultural and humanitarian exchanges, expand practical sectoral and industrial cooperation, promote major projects such as the China-Belarus Industrial Park “Great Stone”, and attract more Chinese enterprises to invest in Belarus.

During the visit, Han Zheng and N. Snopkov took part in the opening ceremony of the China-Belarus Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum and at the special event “A big market for everyone: export to China.”

In his speech, the Deputy Chairman of the CPC stated that China is ready to further develop relations with Belarus based on sincerity and trust, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, explore trade growth opportunities, and expand industrial and investment cooperation.

China will steadfastly adhere to high-quality development and expand a high-level opening-up, providing a broader market space and development opportunities for countries around the world, including Belarus, he assured.

About 1,000 representatives of government and business circles from both countries participated in the event, conducted business negotiations, and signed a number of cooperation intention agreements.

Han Zheng also laid a wreath at the Victory Monument and visited the Belarusian agricultural exhibition. –0–
