Washington, June 4 /Xin Hua/ — US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that negotiations with Iran are going “very well” and “at the moment” Tehran has agreed to allow Americans to enter Iran after the end of the war in coordination with the country’s authorities and to extract nuclear materials buried under the rubble.
“It’s very, very difficult to extract… but nonetheless, I want to get to the bottom of it,” he said to journalists at the White House. “The Iranian authorities have ‘reconsidered a couple of times, but given the current situation, we will deal with this sometime in the near future,” D. Trump noted.
Despite recent strikes in the region, the president emphasized that the agreement on a ceasefire between the USA and Iran, which came into effect in early April, remains in force. An interim agreement may be reached “soon,” as progress is being observed in the negotiations, he added.
“The cessation of fire there is very different from the cessation of fire in other parts of the world. You know, I would say that in this part of the world a ceasefire means when you shoot more moderately,” the president said.
