Specialistscomplex of the urban economy of MoscowThey began repairing the road surface at Novaya Square, located in the Tverskoy District of the Central Administrative Okrug of the capital.
More than eight thousand square meters of asphalt will be renewed at the site. A total of 60 specialists and 40 units of equipment have been involved in the work. Employees of the GBU “Automobile Roads” will carry out milling of the existing pavement, bring inspection wells, stormwater grates, and curbstones into order, as well as lay new asphalt concrete pavement and apply markings.
The last time the road surface on Novaya Square was repaired was in 2022. The service life of asphalt is three years. It needs to be renewed due to the formation of ruts, which can negatively affect road safety. The work is mainly carried out at night with partial lane closures.
New Square — one of the central squares in the capital, located between Lubyanka and Staraya Squares. Here you can find many iconic architectural monuments, among which are the Polytechnic Museum, the Church of Saint Apostle John the Theologian under the Vine, the trading house of the Moscow Merchant Society, and others.
The new square is part of the Kremlin Ring. This year, road services plan to update the asphalt concrete pavement on six of its sections. In addition to the New Square, repairs have begun on the Moskvoretskaya Embankment, and will also take place on Mozhaiskaya Street, Borovitskaya, Staraya, and Lubyanskaya Squares.
