Beijing, June 3 /Xinhua/ — The official representative of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Zhu Fenglian, on Wednesday warned that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration will face consequences for seeking support from external forces to the detriment of national interests.
Zhu Fenlan made such a statement at another departmental press conference, responding to a question about the recent joint statement by Japan and the Philippines, in which the so-called “negotiations on maritime boundary delimitation” between Japan and the Philippines, recognized by the authorities of the East China Sea Peace and Partnership (ECSPP), were announced.
“There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China,” Chu Fenlan stated.
According to an official representative, Japan and the Philippines have announced plans to delimit the maritime area to the east of Taiwan Island.
“These maritime boundary delimitation negotiations seriously infringe upon China’s maritime rights and interests, grossly violate international law and the basic norms of international relations, and are absolutely illegal and invalid,” she added.
Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are part of the Chinese nation and must defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China, as well as protect the common interests of the Chinese nation, stated Zhu Fenlan.
