Update of the faculty staff, results of project-based learning, new programs of additional education and preparation for the admissions campaign were discussed at the Academic Council of GUE.
The ceremony traditionally began with a solemn part, during which Rector Vladimir Stroev presented the Doctor of Economics diploma to Victoria Degtyareva, Deputy Head of the Department of Innovation Management, and congratulated the birthday celebrants of the month.
The first item on the agenda was the voting on candidates for the position of professors. Acting Vice-Rector Nikolay Mikhailov presented the necessary documents and explained the procedure for selecting candidates to fill the vacant teaching positions.
“A total of 215 applications were submitted, including 27 candidates for the positions of professors. The attestation and personnel commission of GUU carefully reviewed all the cases and confirmed that all the necessary documents were attached and complied with the standards,” reported Nikolay Miyailov.
As a result of the secret ballot of the members of the Academic Council, all 27 candidates were approved.
The results of project-based learning at GUU for the 2025/2026 academic year were reported by the Deputy Head of the Directorate of Acceleration Programs and Project-Based Learning, Evgeny Titov.
“The ecosystem created at GUU provides all the needs of project-based learning and its uninterrupted operation. Over the past year, the ‘Learning through Service’ program and the ‘Innovation Spectrum’ accelerator have been fully integrated, a training format has been implemented, and a Project School for master’s students has been held. As a leader in this field, we must help other universities avoid many mistakes, since we have already gone through this thorny path,” said Evgeny Titov.
Vladimir Stroev noted that 2026 is the concluding year for the status of the federal innovation platform “Interregional Training and Methodological Center for Project-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning as a Technology of Practical Training,” it is important to provide material results of the three years of work, consolidate the status of a leader, and move to a new level in this area.
“Yes, one project is coming to an end, but there are new opportunities ahead, the main thing is not to slow down, to remain leaders and help others. Today project-based learning is extraordinarily in demand, leading universities turn to us to establish project-based learning themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to develop methodological recommendations that will help other universities effectively implement this system themselves. People on the outside do not immediately understand how it works, so our duty as leaders is to share experience with colleagues,” concluded the rector of GUE.
The Director of the Institute of Distance Education, Sergey Lenshin, presented the annual report on the Institute’s performance for the past academic year, in which he noted the annual increase in students, including those with excellent academic performance.
Acting Vice-Rector Nikolay Misailov proposed the nomination of GUE employees in 2026 for departmental awards, awards from the Council of Rectors of Moscow and the Moscow Region, and university awards, and also suggested candidacies for participation in the All-Russian competition “Golden Names of Higher Education.”
So, GUU will be represented at the competition:

“As for foreign citizens who apply independently, we have already started working with them, preparing translations, drawing up documents, sending them for the issuance of SNILS in Russia, since it is necessary for submitting documents through Gosuslugi,” noted Vadim Dikiy.
In addition, the meeting discussed the academic calendar and additional educational programs of the Pre-University Center, admission rules for preparatory departments, the assignment of recommended stamps of the Academic Council to textbooks, the appointment of staff to departments for seeking scientific degrees, and other working issues.
