Teacher of the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education (ISPO) of SPbPU Tatyana Bazhenova became a laureate of the All-Russian Innovation Competition “Best Young Teacher 20.26” and the winner in the nomination “Designing Applied Tasks in the Service Industry”.

The annual competition is aimed at identifying and supporting talented educators, developing professional skills, and spreading modern educational practices. In 2026, the organizers received more than 500 applications from 80 subjects of the Russian Federation. Based on the results of the remote stage, 88 teachers were invited to the in-person trials in Moscow. 58 of them reached the final. The only representative of Saint Petersburg was Tatyana Bazhenova.

At the remote stage, the ISPPO teacher presented a video demonstrating innovative educational technologies in the training of specialists in the field of tourism. The basis of the competition work is an author’s method for conducting practice-oriented classes in tourism. Its key idea is the maximum involvement of students in the educational process through solving practical problems, modeling real professional situations, and actively using digital technologies.

As a practicing specialist, an active accredited tour guide for several regions of Russia, I consider it especially important not only to impart theoretical knowledge to students but also to teach them the real aspects of working in the tourism sector. Practical experience, the ability to quickly navigate professional situations, and apply knowledge in practice are becoming key competencies for future specialists today,” says Tatyana Bazhenova.

According to the teacher, with this format of training, students become not just listeners, but full participants in the educational process: they work more actively in teams, learn material faster, and apply knowledge in the profession more confidently. Moreover, the method is accessible for wide implementation — conducting classes usually requires only an ordinary smartphone.

The in-person stage in Moscow included master classes, a presentation of the author’s methodology, and the completion of competition tasks. Tatyana Sergeevna successfully passed all the trials, demonstrating a high level of preparation, pedagogical mastery, and creative approach.

At the solemn ceremony in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the first deputy chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education, Oleg Smolin, presented Tatyana Bazhenova with a letter of gratitude “For high professionalism, personal contribution to the development of Russian education and the dissemination of advanced pedagogical practices.”

Participation in the competition by our teacher became a challenge not only for ISPO, but also for the entire Polytechnic. This is a good professional experience and an opportunity to represent Saint Petersburg at the all-Russian level. We are proud that ISPO employs teachers who possess not only high theoretical competencies but also practical skills, love their profession, and generously share their knowledge with students,” commented the director of ISPO, Roman Baibikov.

Victory in the professional nomination and the status of laureate of the federal competition is a significant achievement both for the teacher himself and for the entire institute. These results confirm the high level of qualification of the teaching staff of ISPO, the active implementation of innovative technologies, and the aspiration to develop modern professional education that trains in-demand specialists for the dynamic labor market.
