Beijing, May 25 /Xin Hua/ — As of the end of April 2026, the total installed capacity of Chinese power plants reached 3.99 billion kW, an increase of 14.2% year-on-year, according to official data released on Monday.
In particular, in January-April of this year, the installed capacity of solar power plants increased by 26.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.25 billion kW, the State Energy Administration of the PRC reported.
An equally significant growth – 22% – was recorded in wind energy, where the installed capacity increased to 660 million kW.
In the first four months of the year, the total electricity consumption in China exceeded 3.33 trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.4 percent year-on-year. -0-
