Specialists from the Ufa Scientific Institute “Rosneft” have improved the functionality of the digital assistant “DataTools,” expanding its capabilities for working with oil wells. The modernized tool allows for effective selection of candidate wells for conducting geological and technical measures aimed at increasing oil production volumes.
At the core of the digital assistant’s operation lie advanced data processing algorithms. The software forms and analyzes an extensive database of results from hydrodynamic studies of wells and determines the causes of production changes. By showing how the flow rate has changed as a result of various factors, the software creates a ranking of wells requiring geological and technical interventions.
New capabilities of the tool have been successfully tested at a key field of the leading asset of the Company “RN-Yuganskneftegaz.” The use of “DataTools” allowed reducing oil production losses associated with well shutdowns, and decreasing specific costs for reservoir pressure evaluation by 90%.
The Company’s plan is to scale up the successful experience of applying the digital assistant at all Rosneft oil and gas fields.
Rosneft is the first oil and gas company in Russia that successfully develops software encompassing all key oil and gas production processes. The Company’s specialists have developed and implemented 24 unique software products.
