Beijing, May 22 /Xin Hua/ — Since the beginning of 2025, the public security organs of China have initiated and investigated 37 thousand criminal cases related to the destruction of wild natural resources, the Ministry of Public Security /MPS/ of the PRC reported.

According to the report, the aforementioned ministry took 59 cases under special control. In addition, five typical cases related to crimes against wildlife were disclosed, such as causing harm to rare and endangered species of wild animals, as well as illegal logging of forest plantations, hunting, and fishing.

Public safety agencies throughout the country are carefully monitoring key regions and locations, including major habitats of wild animals and plants, as well as flower and bird markets, to conduct targeted and intensive raids. Officials of the relevant agencies also actively participated in an international law enforcement operation and intercepted corresponding transnational crimes in accordance with the law.

An official representative of the ministry stated that public security agencies will strictly comply with environmental protection requirements, applying the most stringent measures, and will continue to take decisive actions to combat crimes that cause damage to wild nature resources.
