Bishkek, May 21 /Xinhua/ — Another meeting of Chinese and Russian leaders against the backdrop of the current complex international situation is of great importance, reflecting the continuous deepening of political trust between the two countries. This was stated by Kyrgyz political scientist, professor of the International University “Ala-Too” Kubanychbek Taabaldiev in an interview with Xinhua.
From May 19 to 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a state visit to China, during which the leaders of the two countries held negotiations. This, in my opinion, according to K. Taabaldiev, should be viewed as a step towards a higher level of strategic interaction between the two states.
“This meeting once again confirmed the continuous deepening of political trust between China and Russia and influences the formation of the future world architecture, which is steadily moving towards a multipolar world,” the expert emphasized.
As K. Taabaldiev noted, the key significance of such contacts lies in the attempt of two powers to facilitate the consistent advancement of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including in the economy, trade, energy, science, and technology.
From the expert’s perspective, the impact of the aforementioned meeting on the global architecture may manifest in the further strengthening of the role of multilateral international platforms, in particular the SCO and BRICS, where China and Russia act as key participants. “This creates new opportunities for countries in the region, including Kyrgyzstan,” the interlocutor of Xinhua indicated.
K. Taalabdiev also believes that in the future China and Russia may develop cooperation in such areas as deepening coordination in the field of transport and energy interconnection, the development of joint infrastructure projects, and strengthening interaction in the sphere of the digital economy and technologies.
