Tehran, May 17 /Xin Hua/ — The speaker of the Iranian Majlis (parliament), Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has been appointed as the country’s special representative for China affairs. This was reported on Sunday by the Fars news agency.
Previously, this position was held by the current Iranian ambassador to China Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli and the former secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, who died as a result of attacks by the USA and Israel in March.
M. B. Ghalibaf was the head of the Iranian delegation at the peace talks with the United States from the moment the April 8 agreement on the cessation of fire between Tehran and Washington was concluded after 40 days of hostilities. –0–
