Moscow, May 14 /TASS/ — Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia must have its own technological keys to all production significant for the country’s economy and security. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“We need to independently produce critically important products. To have our own technological keys to all productions that are fundamentally important for the economy, for improving the quality of life of people and, of course, for ensuring the security of the state,” said V. Putin, speaking at the 10th Congress of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia.
The Russian leader noted that domestic machine builders in recent years have been working under difficult conditions, but due to logistical adjustments, component replacements, and proprietary technologies, they have normalized operations and occupied new positions in the market.
According to V. Putin, Russia refuses to copy others and sets market trends itself, develops competitive products, accelerates the implementation of industrial robots, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence technologies.
As reported by the President of the Russian Federation, the volume of industrial production in Russia last year was 12 percent higher than the indicator for 2021, and the volume of output of the manufacturing industry exceeded the 2021 level by a quarter.
“Strengthening our technological sovereignty, we do not intend to isolate ourselves; on the contrary, we aim to create and expand mutually beneficial alliances with other states, support initiatives of foreign partners that use Russian machines, equipment, and technological platforms,” emphasized V. Putin.
