Beijing, May 2 /Xinhua/ — An official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC called on the Kingdom of Eswatini and other individual countries on Saturday to reconsider the trend of the past and stop serving as support for separatists advocating for the “independence of Taiwan.”
The diplomat made this statement commenting on the trip of the head of Taiwan’s administration Lai Ching-te to Eswatini, which he made on Saturday on the private plane of the king of this state.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew attention to the fact that just a few hours after the earthquake in Yilan County, Lai Chinde abandoned the residents of Taiwan, who had not yet recovered from the natural disaster, and the separatist from Taiwan boarded a foreign plane to “secretly evacuate” himself from the island, wasting taxpayers’ money and making a mockery in front of the whole world, which became just another episode in a series of disgusting actions by supporters of “Taiwan independence.”
As the official representative noted, the unworthy actions of Lai Chinda and others once again prove that the principle of one China has long been a fundamental norm of international relations and a prevailing international consensus. According to him, no matter how the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities conspire with external forces and do not “stay on the payroll” of representatives, it will always be a futile effort and will not change the fact that Taiwan is part of China.
No matter how the forces advocating for “Taiwan’s independence” try to hide their essence and change their image, nothing will save their reputation or help them avoid exposure by the international community, summarized the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
