Dushanbe, April 30 /Xin Hua/ — In the first quarter of 2026, Tajikistan’s economic growth amounted to 8 percent. This was announced on Wednesday at a meeting of the country’s government.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon noted at the meeting that this indicator is mainly ensured due to an increase in industrial production by 14%, agriculture by 8%, investments in fixed capital by 34%, paid services by 8.5%, and turnover of goods by 22%.

According to him, the inflation rate for the reporting period was 1.2%, which is lower than the figure for the same period last year.

The head of state emphasized that against the backdrop of a complex global political situation, trade and economic restrictions, as well as the consequences of climate change, the priority tasks remain ensuring economic stability, protecting the domestic market, and reducing the influence of external factors.
