On April 26, Saint Petersburg Peter the Great Polytechnic University opened its doors for future students and their parents. The large career guidance event attracted a large number of participants. More than 3000 people from different regions attended the in-person part, and the university’s online broadcast on social networks was viewed by over 2000 applicants.
The main academic building, where live classical music was played, welcomed guests from the very morning. Consultation areas from all institutes and key university departments were working for them, and guided tours of the campus were also organized.
The central event for applicants was the presentation of the university and the rules of the 2026 admission campaign, which took place in the White Hall. Vitaliy Drobchik, the responsible secretary of the SPbPU admissions committee, thoroughly explained the key details of admission: document submission deadlines, the minimum passing scores from previous years, consideration of individual achievements, and the possibilities of targeted training.
The rich Open House Day program consisted of bright and important events.
- Consultations in the Reading Room and on the White Staircase. Here, you could get all the information about preparatory courses, olympiads, intensives, targeted admission, and training at the Military Training Center.
- Master classes and presentations from institutes. Guests could attend such activities as the show “Modern challenges for physics, electronics, and telecommunications” from IEIT, the quest “Bio-synthesis 2070: from the genetic protocol to resource engineering” from IBSIB, the master class “The color scheme of your interior. Exclusive collage” from ISI.
- Lecture series of preparatory courses. Open lectures were held for future applicants, dedicated to preparation for the Unified State Exam in computer science, specialized mathematics and physics, and also talked about the Olympiad and the summer program of Polytechnic.
- Physical show. A bright scientific presentation concluded the Open Day program.
Throughout the entire day, a win-win lottery was held, which encouraged the most curious participants with prizes from the university.
We strive to help applicants not to drown in the sea of information. In Polite, everyone can get answers to all questions about admissions: in person on Open House Day, by phone through the admissions committee, or via the university’s official channels. Our task is to make the process of choosing a university as transparent and clear as possible, so that future students and their parents feel confident. We are glad that this year more than 3,000 people visited us in person and another 2,000 joined online. This means that we are moving in the right direction, shared the Vice-Rector for Additional and Pre-University Education of SPbPU Dmitry Tisonov.
PolitE thanks future students and their parents for their interest in engineering education and reminds that all current information about the admissions campaign is already published on the university’s official website and social networks.
