The Board of Directors of NOVATEK approved the Sustainable Development Report for 2025
Moscow, April 27, 2026.The Board of Directors of PJSC NOVATEK (hereinafter – “NOVATEK” and/or the “Company”) approved the Sustainable Development Report for 2025 (hereinafter – the “Report”).
Central theme of the Report – “In harmony with the North.” This principle defines the Company’s responsible attitude toward the unique nature and climate of the Arctic, where the Company’s main production assets are concentrated. In 2025, NOVATEK once again proved that industrial development can provide the planet’s growing population with accessible and reliable energy, while simultaneously moving hand in hand with the preservation of the unique Northern ecosystem.
“NOVATEK” today ranks among the leaders of the global oil and gas industry not only in terms of production indicators, but also in carbon efficiency, low employee turnover rates, and industrial injury rates. In 2025, the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 286 kg CO2-equivalent per equivalent barrel. The lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) reached a five-year low of 0.19, which is 27% lower compared to the previous year. In the reporting year, employee turnover was reduced to 4%.
The report is prepared in accordance with leading international and Russian standards and recommendations. 14 material topics of the Report are determined based on the principle of double materiality. The company traditionally publishes the report of one of the first in the Russian oil and gas industry, providing a wide coverage and high reliability of data—177 indicators certified by an independent external auditor, which is the maximum value among reports of Russian oil and gas companies for the last reporting period.
