Moscow, April 24 /TASS/ — Russia and Ukraine on Friday exchanged prisoners of war on a 193-for-193 formula, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the Russian military department, Russia returned 193 servicemen from Ukrainian captivity, in exchange for 193 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Currently, Russian servicemen are being treated on the territory of Belarus, where they are provided with necessary psychological and medical assistance, according to a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“During the return of Russian servicemen from captivity, the mediation efforts of a humanitarian nature were provided by the United Arab Emirates and the USA,” the agency stated.
Earlier in April, Russia and Ukraine conducted a prisoner of war exchange on a 175 for 175 basis. –0–
